Hello Nehzat,

I am working on a skirt block pattern drafting, using your tuts.

I am on video 11 where I have to check the meausrement of the upper hip line.

The actual measurement of the upper hip circumference i took is 98cm half of it is 49cm. And the lower hip circumference is 107.

On my pattern, after calculating, it is 51.5cm which larger than half of the upper hip circumference.

What do I do, considering it is kind of the opposite situation comparing it wih your tutorial?

Thank you. I hope to hear from you soon.

Austin

Re: Checking the Upper Hip measurement

Greetings

  1. Make sure that all the body measurements are correct.
  2. Make sure the calculations of the measurements that you used to draft the pattern are correct.

If everything is correctly done, some issue like this could happen for people who have very flat belly and their body around the upper hip is not curvy. In these situations we can make the darts length longer than it is, by continuing down the center line of the darts and drawing the dart legs some centemeters lower. This way we can reduce what is extra than the body measurement on the upper hip line.

Best wishes.
