Shirt Alteration - Online Videos

In these videos you will learn how to alter a shirt by doing a fitting, then pinning the excess fabric from the bust darts, side seams and the back waist darts. In addition you will learn how to create new waist darts on the front of the shirt, to make it fit better and look nicer on the body.

You will learn how to baste-mark and loose baste the pinned sections, to make identical alterations on both sides of the shirt. Then we will continue and finish sewing the new darts and the flat felled seams on the side seams. We will also learn how to sew two parallel top stitch lines along the side seams as well.

Once you follow these steps, you can make any shirt perfectly tailored to your or any other persons body shape.
