Hello All

I am very excited about learning to sew.  I know nothing about using a machine.  I am ready to learn and I hope this site can help.

Hello

Hello,

This is my first time visiting the forum. I've been sewing for a long time but I have found that there is always something new to learn or new and better ways to do techniques. Also, I am anxious to learn how to draft my own patterns. The videos are very well done!

hello!

hi, this is my first time at the forum since i became a member a couple of weeks ago. i'm a beginner and i have a lot of questions. about my sewing machine, which i just bought a couple of month ago and don't understand no matter how  many times i read the instructions. the buttom stitches don't get in, it would stay out and when i pull, it comes out very easy, on the other hand the top stitches will pass all the way thru. i already adjusted the tensions. i don't know what to do i hope you could help me. by the way i have a toyota sewing machine and supposely you can sew denim and silk but, i haven't been able to sew anything. thank you.

Stitch problems

Hi Cookie1867

Since you have already adjusted the top and bottom thread tensions, the problem may lie with the way you have threaded the machine. For example if you miss a loop or miss thread the top thread going down to the needle, then your thread tension may remain too high or too low. Regardless of how much adjustment you made to the thread tension knob.

Another Issue might be with the bobbin. If it is not threaded correctly, the bottom thread tension will be too light. This is what happened with my machine. I had the exact problem as you did. it turned out I had not threaded the bobbin correctly.Watch the Sewing Machine Essentials Video lesson.... Where Nehzat covers bobbin winding and you will see how the thread should be wound around the bobbin-case or the bobbin holder, depending on the machine type.

I hope this helps.
