how to replace a zipper pull on a heavy jacket

Hello

 

I am new to your forum, and need some real help.   I have an 84 year old husband who love his jacket, but he broke the pull.  I bought akiet, but I am still confused.  The old pull, that is broke, has a little spring in it, and when I bought the new Dritz zipper repair kit, it had pulls but there wasn't any thing like the spring in his old one.  I am so worried.  I hope you can help me solve this without spending lots of money on replacing the entire zipper.  Our social security doesn't go that far.

Hi Edwina

If you cant find the special pull for the jacket, you may have to make due with the one you have already purchased.

If the zipper still opens and closes you have done a good job.
