 Hi all,

I have incorporated Nehzat's bodice and skirt drafting techniques to make myself a simple vintage dress.  It may not be perfect (my mistakes - not the teacher's!) but I am thrilled to have the know-how to finally get back into dressmaking and I'm loving it :)

Thank you so much, Nehzat - you don't know what this means to me.

Here are some pictures of what I've learned from your videos.

                                                    My dress

My dress

Not the best model - but hey, one's got to improvise ;) I did not hem the dress - an unsightly hem is my pet peeve, so I lined the hem too.

OK - no comment here ;)

Side profile (Should have had hair up, but like I said - it's the model!)

I had issues with a gaping back but looked through some other messages on this forum and found Nehzat's suggestions of much help. TADA...Gaping practically gone!

Note to self: Need to work on those abs!

I'm a firm believer that the inside must look as good as the outside

Once again, thank you, Nehzat.  I'm sure I'll get better as I keep learning more.  Will keep you posted with my progress.

....Back to drafting!

Di

Re: Simple Vintage Dress

Dear Di,

Congratulations on your accomplishment. I really enjoyed looking at your dress from all the different angles and also your description.

Looking forward to see more of your project.

Happy sewing,

Nehzat
