Re: How Do I Take Up in the Crotch Area

Dear Phylis,

You can reduce the crotch length by sewing a new seam line on each leg starting at the crotch seam and merging it with the existing seam line at the knee. Then trim the excess fabric.

The amount you can take in on the in seam at the crotch should not be more than 2 cm or 6/8 of an inch. Any more and the front and back inseams will become different lengths.

If this is not enough of an adjustment, then you can remove the waistband and sew it a bit further down or as much as possible before hitting the pockets.

I hope this helps.
