Hi, the issue I have is joining lining to fabric in a very neat way especially on dresses. I have watched the videos available but in both ( the red dress and the pleated skirt  spagetti dress) the lining was a full lining and joined to the piping. I need to know how to neatly join lining to a dress (or top) where the lining stops at the waist line or burst line without the stitch showing on the right side of the fabric. For example;Image It doesn't show on the right side of fabric; Image Please help.

Re: How to Join Lining to a Garment

 Dear josephor,

In the Panel Dress Sewing Video, what we have around the necklines and armholes is facing. In the Dress with Pleated Skirt we also have facing around the top section.

In the pictures you have provided it appears that the dress has no facing but lining at the top.

However you can apply the same technique that I used to join the facing around the neckline and armholes in the Panel Dress Sewing Video Lesson, to this way of lining a dress as well. You can watch chapters 61 to 66.

Happy sewing,

Nehzat
