 Hi Netzat,
i have a blouse I will like to alter on the shoulder and side seams as it is too big for me.I have watched the "T-Shirt remodelling video" and it gave me the confidence that I can do the alteration. Now the blouse is lined, do I have to rip off the lining before I do the alteration and ,do I have to alter the lining as well. Also, do I have to mark a new neck line as you do in the video? After pinning the shoulder and side seams, the neck -line was higher than it was before. What is the best approach to this alteration. I want to do a perfect job on it but, I don't want the neckline to be too high.

Thanking you for your professional advise.
Deb.

Re: Shoulder and side seam alteration

Dear Deb,

Happy to see that our videos have given you the confidence to do this alteration.

First you should know that whatever changes you make to the shell of the garment, you need to also do to the lining.

If you prefer the neckline to be lower down, then you will need to do a fitting and mark the new neckline using tailor's chalk, both on the front and back.

This way you will be confident in knowing how much to trim away. Make sure to leave some fabric for the seam allowances.

Happy sewing,

Nehzat
