I've taken in a number of jackets over the past 7 years - I often feel that the vents (on double vent jackets) don't quite sit as well as I would like them to once I've taken the jacket in down the back seam. Why is this and what can I do to sort it out?

Re: Jacket with center back vents

Dear simplyalterations,

If you take in the center back seam too much from the waist down, this will cause the vents not to lay flat. Always baste the intakes and do a fitting to make sure the vents lay flat, before sewing by machine.

Happy sewing,

Nehzat
